“It has been said that the greatest praise of God consists in his denial of Him by the atheist, who finds creation so perfect that he can dispense with a creator.”
Marcel Proust(1921)
Welcome to George Gomes da Costa Jr’s homepage. I am a physics student at California State University Northridge in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
I love quotes. If my website were a car these would be the bumper stickers. Here are some of my favorites.
Annotated Favorite websites:
Weather- Don’t have a window or a crystal ball? You can get the current and future weather. I like this site because under detail you can get the hourly temperature, humidty/dewpoint and wind forecasts, far handier than just the max and min temperatures. Still not enough? Check out the radar. Still not enough? Check out the animated radar.
NPR- They have a liberal bias but who cares? It is still the best reporting around for those of us who hate to get news print on our hands.
Google News- Speaking of not getting newsprint on your hands. There are two great things about this site. First you get news from around the world, like Chinese media. Who, compared to NPR, look like well … a bunch of pinko communists. Second you can search for specific news topics. Who would have associated the word “google” with “search”?
Comics- Everybody knows that the only reason to read the news is so that you understand what the editorial cartoons are lampooning. Tom Toles … what can I say he is the best. And of course there are the good old fashion comics. Jason Fox for President!
