My lab is exploring two different aspects of organelle biology in plant cells. We work primarily with Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) and Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) Students in my lab are currently working on two different projects: In our Plastid Stromules Project, we are investigating the structural and functional properties of plastid stromules, thin connections between chloroplasts and other plastids. In our Novel Organelles Project, we are trying to identify and characterize novel intracellular organelles in plant cells using GFP-tagged Arabidopsis lines. I am currently seeking motivated undergraduates and M.S. students to work on both of these projects. |
