As interim Director of Academic Technology, I lead initiatives that improve teaching and learning through technology and serve as the primary liaison between Information Technology and Academic Affairs. Every year there is new technology that is normalized from the point of view of the students, who were born digital. It is incumbent on the University to at least consider how these technologies can improve learning. My role is to ease the faculty into a perpetually new age of teaching with computers, multimedia, networks, e-texts, and learner analytics.

History
Before moving into Academic Technology, I taught for twelve years in the Department of Management, mainly classes on organizational behavior, change and innovation. Prior to my university appointment I worked as an industrial anthropologist on large-scale research projects inside Fortune 500 companies and public sector institutions including Hewlett-Packard, Douglas Aircraft, and New United Motors Manufacturing Incorporated to understand how techniques such as self-managing teams, lean manufacturing, and statistical process control can improve organizational effectiveness.
