Be the change you wish to see in the world--Gandhi

The breeze blows gently as the sun kisses my cheeks. There is a look of calm and serenity here. The calm after seeing a sleeping kitten or realizing you are in love. Something that only your heart knows, your wet eyes feel, but your lips may never speak.

My student life:

Currently, I am attending California State University, Northridge (CSUN).  I am a junior and am majoring in psychology and creative writing.

I graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in Arroyo Grande, Ca where I grew up.  I was an AP student at the top of my class, helped run 3 clubs, did volunteer work, was part of the theatre department, along with many other endeavors.

I then went to Allan Hancock College to start an AA degree.  After I year, I was accepted to the high prestigious Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts (PCPA).  After graduating, I finished my AA degree at Hancock and went on to attend CSUN.

My work life:

I work for Starbucks Coffee Company.  I love my job because I get to meet and interact with so many different, interesting, and exciting people everyday.

I have also done modeling work, worked for the Sierra Club, worked

as part of the wardrobe crew for theatre productions (such as the world premiere of The Wildest; a musical review of Louis Prima’s work), and worked as a PA for ABC-Disney.

On my own time:

I love to write.  Lately it has been mostly poetry, but many stage plays, screenplays, and more are rattling around up there.

I also love to play music.  I have played the piano for 12 years, the flute for 10, and also play oboe and steel drums.  I am teaching myself the guitar and I bang on my djembe every now and then.

Have you hugged your barista today? Starbucks coffee double-tailed siren, sometimes called a mermaid. Did you know that the siren used to have breasts peeking out from under her long flowing hair in the logo, but someone somewhere considered it too risque and starbucks had to remove the cleavage? Now, the images on the cups that just changed are the original image and there is yet again a controversy.

History of my name:

I am 1/8 Seminole Native American, a part of the Muskogee heritage

including both Seminole and Creek tribes.  My parents were searching

for a name within the tribe that was feminine and interesting that they

liked, but they couldn’t find anything they liked.  They came across the

name of one of the main reservations in Florida, Dania Beach, and they

found their name.  It is just south of Hollywood, Fl.  The Seminoles are

one of the few tribes that fought the removal from their native land

via the Trail of Tears.

A seminole tribe, my ancestory. Their dress is rustic and patterned in striped and tough materials. The women wear long, thick skirts and ponchos of similar patterns, thick and tough. Their hair is as if you were wearing a visor and had your hair tucked in around it and up over it.
