ICQ: ICQ is a small application that connects to an ICQ server (In the background) whenever you go online and updates your status to "Online" All of your friends and family that are on your contact list are immediately have their contact lists updated with you as being "Online" Simple huh?
Besides the obvious advantages to being able to tell just how much time your friend in Chicago actually spends online you are able to do a whole host of time saving things. You can send instant messages to people and if they are online at the time it will pop up on their screen, (think of them as e-mail nibblets) you can instantly start up a chat session with a person or persons of your choice, you can send files or documents, et cetera, et cetera. So why is it better than email? But I can do that on AOL you say?
Well a pox on you for using AOL but what about the rest of the world who do not use it? You can instantly reach anyone, anywhere if they are using ICQ. (ICQ is free, AOL cost money. Hmmm)
ICQ is designed to automatically setup peripheral program on both ends such as WebPhone, CuSeeMee, Quake, and is designed so that virtually any web related program can be added if it isn't natively supported.
Well I could go on and on, (Actually I can't, I'm out of propaganda) but I'm sure you get the idea. ICQ = Good
