AMERICAN WOMEN IN RADIO & TELEVISION

The Southern California Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television awards scholarships to students focusing on a career in radio, television, film, or multimedia. Applicants are judged on their overall presentation of themselves as potential candidates for the broadcast and film industries. Six scholarships will be distributed to students attending an university within the Los Angeles area.

Procedure for Student Applicants:
1. Complete an AWRT Scholarship application. These are available in the CTVA Office, MZ 195 or download here (.doc file) .

2. Submit a resume, including personal data, professional and academic objectives, and other pertinent background information.

3. Submit a one-page composition on why you wish to get into the cinema, television or industries, what are your long-range goals, and what contributions you hope to make to the profession. Include other information which would help the judges in making their decisions.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, so all applicants should plan to attend the AWRT "Meeting of the Minds" that will be held towards the end of the spring semester.

Application Deadline: March 16, 2009.
