CTVA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The CTVA internship program is designed for junior or seniors in the CTVA Dept. The purpose of the program is to give students practical experience in the entertainment industry and to make vital contacts that could help with employment opportunities in the future. Students have a wide range of production companies to choose from and many students find their own internships by picking places that will help to enhance their careers.
The goal of the CTVA Internship Program is to instill in students the knowledge, expertise, and creative skills that will allow them to pursue their goals in the fields of cinema, television, screenwriting, management, radio, and multimedia. The CTVA Internship Program promotes the critical, analytical, creative, ethical, and conceptual thinking that will enrich the students’ professional career paths.
Most internships are non-paid positions although some of the major studios now offer many paid internships: Disney, NBC Universal, Paramount and Sony. A student may sign up for three or six units of internship credit CTVA 494C (3 units), CTVA 494F (6 units), CTVA 694C (graduate student, 3 units). Most internships are designed for three units (135 hours of work minimum). A six unit internship requires virtually full-time work for a minimum of 270 hours for the semester.
A student may take a maximum of six CTVA internship units for credit.
