Japanese Culture 101
Summer Festivals- As Summer arrives, festivals are held at local shrines.  Young men wearing headbands and happi(kimono short coats) carry mikoshi (portable shrine) on their shoulders, shouting "Wasshoi, wasshoi."

Flower Arrangements also known as Ikebana is the art of traditional Japanese flower arrangements, originally related to religious ceremonies.  Flowers were originally arranged where gods were welcomed or used as offerings at Buddhist altars.  When the tea ceremony became popular in the 16th century, flowers were arranged in tea ceremony rooms.  There are now three major ikebana schools: Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetshu.

Japanese version of paper rock scissors, everything is the same except instead of saying paper rock scissors, you say "Jan Kem pon"
