Public Policy
The Center for Policy Research at Syracuse University has created a Policy Oriented Gerontology Curriculum. These components deal specifically with a variety of social policy issues involving aging Americans. The components provide timely and accurate information on terms, trends, debates, and legislation surrounding the issues. This information will be continually updated and will make use of the new technology of the Internet for providing current knowledge and access to a wide variety of resources.
K-12 Curriculum on Aging
New York State has developed an online version of the New York State Gerontology Curriculum Resource Guide. This guide contains free lesson plans designed for high school teachers who teach about gerontology.
The Positively Aging® curriculum is interdisciplinary, incorporating issues on aging and is designed for middle school and high school students. Our units are the result of a long term partnership between teachers from Northside Independent School District and scientists from the Aging Research and Education Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
