Hi everyone! My name’s Carla Carreno, I’m a graduating senior at California State University Northridge. I will be receiving my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My future goals are to receive a Master’s degree in Social Worker and travel around the world.

 I was born in Lima-Peru and moved to the states when I was sixteen years old. I have a beautiful and supportive family. My father is the most outgoing and funniest person to be around. My mother is very dedicated to her family and she is also my best friend. My siblings are; Paul (29) and my sister Sabrina (6). Also my aunt Yenny and my cousin Lesly (11) which I adore.

I’m a very social person. I look forward spending time with my family and friends during the weekends. My favorite hobbies are: to eat, go shopping, movies, travel, and of course dance. Sometimes I wish to have more free time for myself. If I could have a wish granted, I wish there was more hours in the day. Between my two jobs, volunteering and being a full-time student I usually find the days are too short. My parents encourage me to work hard towards my goals. And one thing I’m certain of is that education will take me a long way in life.

Throughout the entire world, music is one thing that is constant.Music is my favorite form of creativity.Music crosses different barriers: languages, religions, political and legal status. Music is a vehicle for expressing love, telling a story, or communicating happiness.

I consider music to be the single most influential thing in my life ; I was dancing before I learned to speak. Music brings joy and balance into my life. Ever since I was a baby music was played around me. My dad introduced to tropical music such as salsa, meringue, and bachatas. My mother listened to soft rock such as The Police, Abba, and The Beattles. There are many great artists that have influenced and enriched my life in different ways. Some of my favorite artists are: The Beattle, Celia Cruz, and Hector Lavoe. I like to listen to all different types of music; however, I love dancing salsa, meringue, hip-hop and trance.
