MEDIA RELEASE
History Alumni Book Discussion
On Monday, November 9th History Professor Tom Devine will lead a discussion of Kevin Boyle’s award winning Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age. A gripping and tragic account of the Ossian Sweet trial in 1920s Detroit, the book has been a favorite of Dr. Devine’s students over the past few years, and he looks forward to discussing it with alumni and former students. The seminar will begin at 6:30 pm in the Whitsett Room (Sierra Hall 451).
This event was well-received last year, and the format will remain the same. Participants are asked to read the book in advance of the discussion. Seating will be limited.
If you are interested in participating in the seminar or would like more information, please contact Professor Tom Devine in the History Department at tom.devine@csun.edu or (818) 677-3556. Parking is $6.00 and permits are available at Information Booth 2 at Prairie Street and Darby Avenue.
