Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a good way to get experience in an area of interst and make sure it is right for you. The following list is a good place to start when looking for volunteer work. The following organizations have provided volunteer opportunties to CSUN psychology students for many years.

Hospitals and Clinics

Training required and provided.  Minimum 6-month commitment required.  Training is 2 weekends plus Monday afternoons for 4-6 hour.  Volunteers are asked to keep Monday afternoons free for group support and supervision.  Provide emotional and peer support in-group and individual settings to persons facing life threatening illnesses, and to their loved ones.  Shanti tries to accommodate the volunteers need in client matches, schedules and location.
