Upcoming Conferences
Each spring the California Geographical Society hosts a conference bringing geographers from around the state and from neighboring states together for a few days fellowship, outstanding scholarship and field exploration.
This page lists and describes upcoming spring conferences.
2013: San Luis Obispo
In 2013, we are planning on having our conference at Cal Poly SLO and the nearby Central Coast Region. Click on the link above to see additional information.

Beyond-
We strive to find exciting places to meet, and every other year we try to meet at an off-campus location. We also strive to add variety to the geographical setting and thematic content of each conference.
Some suggestions have included, Death Valley, Big Bear, Point Reyes, San Francisco, the Modoc Plateau, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Monterey, and others.

Tradition suggests that the annual conference move about the state so to maximize the number of regions visited in a four year cycle, in order to maximize opportunities for students who may have trouble traveling to distant parts of the state.
Our organization has not been hosted by a Bay Area institution in many years. We've been seeking a host from this region for some time. If you're from the Bay Area or the nearby Wine Country, please consider hosting a spring conference.
