2002Buttonwood Farm Sauvignon  Blanc-

2001 Buttonwood Farm Merlot  -

2001 Buttonwood Farm Syrah -

2000 Buttonwood Farm Cabernet Sauvignon  - With our first harvest of cabernet sauvignon in 1988, we immediately recognized the potential of our vineyard to produce grapes that reflect all the best qualities of this varietal.  Since then, the combination of our vineyard location, soil type, and vineyard management techniques have produced marvelous fruit from which Winemaker Michael Brown has created luscious Bordeaux style wines.

The 2000 growing season was gloriously normal, producing ripe fruit with great flavor.  The grapes fermented for seventeen days before the wine was pressed off and barreled for two years in French oak.  Sporting flavors of dusty plum and tobacco with a pleasantly dry finish, 2000 Buttonwood Cabernet Sauvignon offers the best in Santa Ynez Valley cabernet:  attractive flavors supported by gentle tannins.  Cabernet Sauvignon is great with your favorite beef dish.  Can’t you just taste a bacon wrapped filet grilled over red oak as you savor the wine?

Buttonwood Cabernet Sauvignon - Although it was originally planted with the idea that it would perform a supporting role in a proprietary Bordeaux-style blend, our estate grown cabernet sauvignon showed wonderful characteristics from the start.  Summer sea breezes and cool nights extend the growing season in our vineyard promoting full flavor development in the cabernet fruit.  Careful canopy management, extended maceration and two years of barrel aging aid mother nature in the creation of cabernets bursting with attractive flavors supported by gentle tannins.

It always takes a while for a vineyard’s fruit to reach maturity and Buttonwood 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon was the break-out wine that put us on the radar screen.  It caught the attention of local writer, Bob Senn, who regularly snubs Santa Barbara County cabernets.  He was "blown away" because instead of vegetal qualities, " . . . the wine shows those wonderful classic Bordeaux flavors and aromas of cassis and tobacco, with the classic cigar box nose."  Master Sommelier Peter Granoff ranked it as one of the best Cabs from the Santa Ynez Valley he had ever tasted and enthused ". . . this wine is brimming with rich fruit, sweet oak and ripe tannins.  It is flawlessly balanced."  And it came "highly recommended" by The Insiders’ Wine Line with an "Outstanding" rating and 91 points.

Buttonwood 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon was a quiet but solid wine.  It still impresses in our vertical tastings.  Another quiet but solid wine, Buttonwood 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon received five medals in competition.  And although it started out quiet, it just got better and better and remains a favorite when tasted from the library.

And then came Buttonwood 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon.  Winner of gold medals at the Orange County Fair, New World International Wine Competition, and San Diego National Wine Competition, this wine received a lot of acclaim.  Connoisseurs’ Guide named it a "best buy in the market," awarded it a star, and said it "wholly avoids the herbal distractions that often plague its Central Coast neighbors" while it "keys on lots of ripe, wonderfully accessible cassis-like fruit."  Norm Roby and Tim Fish on WineToday.com gave it a four star rating and called it "complex," "balanced," and "showy."  From The Insiders’ Wine Line came "The flavors . . . are complex with exceptional depth and texture followed by a fabulous, fruity, expansive finish" and  another "Outstanding" and 91 point rating.  The best, though, came from Charles Olkin writing for the Los Angeles Times.  He compared Buttonwood 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon favorably to Napa Valley cabernets costing twice the price or more!  High praise, indeed, for a Santa Barbara County cabernet.

2000 Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Barbara (CA) - Grapes hand-picked. Gold in color with a greenish hue, this clean, light-bodied Sauvignon Blanc exhibits crisp melon and dried herb aromas. It features creamy herb flavors leading to a hint of buttery oak character on the finish. Serve with cheese, pasta, seafood, or poultry.

2001 Trebbiano Reserve, South Coast (CA) - Soft and dry, with a balanced oak and fruity nose. A rare Italian varietal that will compliment seafood or fowl as  well as cheese and fruit. Once you experience this fine wine, it will be a life long favorite! ORGANICALLY GROWN.

1999 Zinfandel, Amador (CA) -2002 Forgiveness Reserve, South Coast (CA) - Forgiveness heals the soul. It is its renewal and a fresh start for the tempted. There is beauty, peace, and ease in forgiveness."Offer this wine with roses to your lover or friend and ask for forgiveness. Medium body fruity red wine that is delicious as it is delicate. Peach aromas and flavors. Greet the nose and the palate. Soft, Silky tanins add structure, depth and intensity. The wine is supple, the fruit lingering. "A VOTRE SANTE!!"

2002 Muscat Canelli, South Coast (CA) - Spicy and balanced with a fresh and fruity bouquet. This wine boasts a unique character of unsurpassed excellence. Serve with cheeses, fruit or salads. ORGANICALLY GROWN.

Surrender  (Chocolate Port) - It is when we Surrender to the power and the long-lived beauty of the mind without regards to the short-lived physical beauty that we experience satisfaction. Surrendering to pains may be the ultimate satisfaction. After all, we need Forgiveness to Surrender to Passion. Port like wine with natural flavors of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Au Plaisir!!

Port, Cucamonga Valley (CA) - Selected Zinfandel grapes from Cucamonga valley create this superb port with a dry, smooth and lingering fruity finish with hints of coco and spice. This is a complete dessert by itself!!
