Text: Complex Analysis, by Stein and Shakarchi, Princeton University Press.

Syllabus: Good chunks of Chapters 1 through 7, and possibly epsilon from remaining chapters. It certainly will not be possible to cover all this (beautiful) material, but I hope to hit most of the high notes, including the proof of the prime number theorem (modulo a few background results, if necessary). Every now and then, I may bring in supplementary material if I feel it is worthwhile.

Homework: I plan to give one problem set approximately once a week. I expect much learning to happen during the solving process. Homework sets are posted below.

Quizzes: I plan to give short quizzes through the semester, no more than five in number, to help reinforce material from both the homework and class lectures. The quizzes will be announced one class in advance.

Exams: There will be one midterm exam, whose date will be announced at least a week ahead of time. The final exam is on Tuesday May 12th, 5:30PM - 7:30PM, in CR 5117.

Grading: HW 15%, Quizzes 20%, MT 30%, Final 35%.

Homework Sets: Watch this space!
