Classroom Policies and Procedures

Students are required to have a math notebook that will only be used for math.

Graph paper may be REQUIRED for certain assignments. Graph paper can be found on the internet and on my website.

HW will be assigned, checked, and reviewed on a daily basis.

HW must be completed in pencil.

HW must be corrected in pen. It is the students’ responsibility to correct their HW and make sure all problems are complete and understood. Students are encouraged to ask questions during the HW review and to attend student support.

HW will be graded on completeness and neatness. HW is due at the beginning of the period. If it is not complete, legible, and corrected, NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN! Students must write the section #, assignment, and problem #s at the top of the page. Their name should be in the upper right corner. ALL problems must be copied and all work must be shown and answers should be boxed. HW packets will be collected on the day of a test or quiz. No late work will be accepted!!!!

Attendance is imperative. Students with habitual absences and tardies will suffer academically. Some instruction is available only in class lectures and discussion. Missed explanations are lost learning opportunities. I will not re-teach any lesson during student support periods due to absences!!

Missing class on test days is highly frowned upon. Students will be expected to take a make-up exam upon returning to class unless prior arrangements have been made.

Students may be given time in class to work on assignments. Students who do not choose to use this time wisely will lose points and may be assigned lunch detention.

Students are not permitted to eat or drink in my classroom!! Water is OK. Please eat breakfast and finish all beverages before first period, finish nutrition before third period, and finish lunch before fifth period.
