Welcome to the Kodokai Aikido Club at California State University Northridge. Aikido is a non-violent martial art that teaches self-defense through the principles of harmony. Aikido increases flexibility, stamina, strength, and teaches respect for yourself and others. The club is student-run group open to students and employees of CSUN. We hold weekly practices on campus as well various club activities including seminars. New members are welcome to join at any time. Simply show up to one of the scheduled meetings below or send an email requesting membership. Below is a list of the current practice times. Classes are generally held in Redwood Hall. The club is an official dojo under Kodokai Aikido International, which was founded by Minoru Oshima Shihan in 1980. There are camps and tests throughout the year with visitors from other dojos. Recruitment: The Kodokai Aikido Club is looking for members and officers for the Fall 2007 semester. If you have an interest in Aikido and would like to become involved on campus, then we want to hear from you! No prior experience is required, and we accept all interested people.
The club currently has openings for the following positions:

Vice President
Treasurer
If you enjoy leading others and are interested in becoming an officer, please contact us at the club email address listed below. No prior experience is required. You only need to be a current student at CSUN. The club will provide all the necessary training for the positions. Being club officer increases your involvement on campus and provides beneficial experience to list on your resume.
