Software Review 2: Shoot the Messenger

Shoot the Messenger!

Windows Messenger seems to be a way of life for any of us that use PC. Although I never use it, never asked for it, and would rather not have it on my machine, I cannot seem to disable it. I believe this is a common problem with Windows XP; to add insult to injury, it can open the door to unscrupulous types who are just dying to send me spam pop-ups that I will never be able to trace. Lovely.

This is not only a problem with PC's; it also affects Mac's running Windows NT, 2000, XP, and 2003. We all need to turn this off program off. This can be accomplished is several ways, either manually, or using a small utility program designed specifically to eliminate this. After a year an a half of facing this pain in the rear running on my toolbar every time I fire up Outlook Express, I was able to finally remove it! I used "Shoot the Messenger" and it was a quick and easy solution, try it!
