The Mean Green Team started a recycling program at CALS High School in the fall of 2006. The team placed recycling containers for glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans, paper, and can tabs. Every week they collect the containers and place recylcables in a convenient location for pick-up by the Los Angeles Conservation Corps. Members also bring recyclables from home and take recyclables picked up at local beach, canyon, and river clean-ups to school to be recycled.
Through this program the Mean Green Team has reduced the waste of CALS HS, saved energy, and reduced CO2 emissions.
