Poison Oak-"Leaves of three let it be". A painful, itchy, and blistery rash can result from contact with this plant thanks to its urishiol, which is poisonous to most people. The rash can last for weeks, however, not all people react to poison oak.

Yucca-Found throughout Southern California's mountains, washes, and natural areas up to about 7,000 feet. The ends of their spine-tipped leaves can be sharp and painful! The natives of California used to use this tough plant for everything from shoes to rope to rope to food.

Altitude Sickness -Commonly occurs as low as 8,000 feet in elevations. Symptoms include loss of appetite, headache, fatigue, and shortness of breath. You can decrease your chances of altitude sickness by eating plenty of food, staying hydrated, and accending slowly.
