A Multimedia Portfolio by Austin

· proj1_Austin.jpg
– This is a jpeg file. I originally
started with a picture of a boat and two characters. One character was placed in front of the boat and the other was
placed behind the boat. I used Adobe
Photoshop 5.0 to do this. This was my
first attempt. AustinTrial3.jpg is the final image. With this example I learned how to crop
images, adjust the sensitivity of the cropping tool, how to add effects, how to
manipulate layers, and how to compress an image.
· AustinPortfolioAnimation.html – This is
a flash movie that displays static animated objects. The final object displayed is the second hand of a clock, this
second hand is in an infinite loop. I
used Flash 5 to create the animation.
This file includes use of layers, motion and shape tweening,
manipulation of the center of an object, basic scripting, frame rate to control
effects, resizing and reshaping of objects, and changing brightness, tint, and
alpha (opacity) of objects.
· AustinPortfolioSound.html – This is a
flash movie that allows the user to play a song, stop the song, adjust volume,
pan left, and pan right. Sliding bars
are used to implement the volume and pan controls. The sliding bar gives the user an almost infinite adjustability
of the effect. Flash 5 was used to
create this file. This player
implements rather advanced scripting (Action Script), compression of audio,
creation of buttons, creation of sliding adjustment bars, and simple algorithms
to set pan and volume from button position.
· AustinDomesticViolenceTItle.html –
This is a flash movie that is part of a Domestic Abuse Prevention
Application. It displays some facts and
requires the user to click buttons to proceed.
Flash 5 was used to create it.
This required the use of multiple scenes, breaking apart text into
objects, manipulating, animating, skewing, and color change of the text objects,
and manipulation of frame and layer order.
