Susan
Belgrad, a highly-experienced trainer in differentiated learning
strategies, the cooperative learning classroom and performance assessment,
is a Professor of Education at
California State University, Northridge. She specializes in promoting the
brain-friendly classroom through student-centered learning and
differentiated assessment
strategies that are showcased by portfolios and e-portfolios.
Belgrad
leads graduate courses and professional development for teachers in
differentiated learning and assessment, best classroom management
practices, brain-compatible curriculum development, and
technology-supported learning. Her research is on teacher efficacy and
student learning and the impact of classroom learning culture on brain development
in children and
adolescents.
Belgrad
has had articles published in journals and monographs and been a
contributor to many news and magazine articles. She has written book
chapters on performance-based assessment and is the lead author of The
Portfolio Connection: Student Work Linked to Standards, 3rd ed. |
