General Guidelines for Factoring (Read Mod. VIII page 12)

    1. Is there a common factor? If so, factor it out FIRST! This will always make the remaining problem easier and sometimes it will not be possible to factor until this has been done.
    2. How many terms are there?

3 terms: Factor by trial and error or use the AC method.

4 terms: Use factoring by grouping

3. Make sure that you have factored completely!
