    PROFESSOR RUTH KALIN

    Ruth Kalin is a CSUN alumna with a B.A. and M.A in Communication Studies.

    She is the director of the Communication for Youth Institute. Her previous research has studied the intersection of feminism and marriage. Ruth’s master’s thesis Do It Herself Marriage: A Cultural Critique on Marital Advice Books examined fifty years of marital advice texts written by married women during a time of rapid advancement for women in order to study the messages promulgated by these popular written materials. Her current research is focusing on communication and service-learning.
