Jennifer Berry earned her BA from USC and her MFA from San Francicso State University.
Jennifer Berry is teaching the WS 200 course for the Gender and Women's Studies Department in Fall 2009. She has been employed as a playwright, screenwriter, director, and actor.
Berry often combines a wide variety of artistic disciplines mixing movement, acting, dance, text, scene design and lighting into one integrated piece that stands on its own. Berry's work is a collage of creative contradictions. All of her writing seeks to decode the definitions of the status quo.
Her directing work allows the visual pleasure in a Narrative Form.
"I like the way the body talks. As a director, I want to take the audience on a journey into the interior of the body, merging the organic with the abstract; structure with rhythm; and the meaning of gesture. I find extreme contrasts more interesting! Transforming the flow of moments into something, visual, textual, or musical."
