The Academic Affairs Web Architecture Committee was convened to address both the need for uniform content organization and navigational consistency, and the identification of information management best practices for College web pages. One of its objectives is “to recommend best practices for the management of content (i.e. files, data) within folders/directories and consistent naming conventions for URLs.”
The goals of this document are:
- to provide a set of conventions that can be used to guide the construction of URLs for CSUN web sites;
- to recommend the use of consistent form of names in URLs.
This document focuses on naming conventions for URLs and serves as a supplement to the Academic Affairs Web Architecture Committee report “Re-Organization of Content across CSUN College Web Pages: Recommendations.”
