"Interpersonal violence can affect anyone.
No one should suffer alone.
If you have been assaulted, you have the right to information and support.
We are here to help."

Valley Trauma Counseling Center (VTCC) is a non-profit, multicultural organization dedicated to the elimination of sexual and interpersonal violence through healing, empowerment, and increased public awareness of prevention strategies. We work with communities to provide quality crisis intervention and counseling services, trainings, and prevention education to promote social change.

VTCC is affiliated with the Educational Psychology Department of California State University, Northridge.

OUR SERVICES

24-Hour Crisis Hotline
Runs 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and is answered by volunteer Counselors and California State Certified Rape Crisis Advocates who provide information, referrals, and crisis counseling over the telephone.

Accompaniments
If someone has been assaulted, a volunteer California Certified Rape Crisis Advocate or Counselor will meet the survivor at the hospital, police station, or court to provide on-site emotional support, information and advocacy.

Counseling
Short and long-term individual counseling is offered to individuals, couples, families, and groups at VTCC offices or in the client’s home.  Counseling is available to families who are at-risk for or have experienced child abuse and/or neglect, families and/or individuals who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault, and those who have dealt with substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Support groups and psychoeducational classes are also available.

Prevention Education/Community Outreach
Our PE/CO team helps increase public awareness by remaining a visible resource and providing prevention education programs on all forms of interpersonal victimization to the community at large.
