Are you involved in
a volunteer assignment, service-learning class, work study community
based job or an internship with a non-profit community agency?
Are you considering doing something to serve your community?
If you answer yes, you may be eligible for a scholarship program!
The AmeriCorps
HELP Program is designed to give students like you a "thank
you" for serving your community. You simply enroll in the
program, do your hours at your site, turn in your time sheets
monthly and complete a couple pages related to what you have done.
When your hours are completed, you get a voucher to be used towards
future education or school loans. It's as good at it sounds and
there really is no catch. As long as you do your hours and turn
in your forms, it all works pretty smoothly.
You may choose a 450-hour
program to be completed in 1 year or 900 hours to be completed
in 2 years. Appropriate "sites" need to be non-profit
organizations that do some sort of service to the community. If
you are not sure if you are in an appropriate program, please
call us to confirm.
Please see the attached
flier for our mandatory orientation dates or call for additional
dates if you can't make these listed. Please call Gina
at 818-677-4106 with any questions or to RSVP for the orientation.
Thank you for serving
your community and your interest in this program!
