Check back next spring for information about next summer's camp.
Who We Are
Sunny Days Camp is an accredited summer day camp at the University Student Union, located on the campus of California State University, Northridge. Sunny Days Camp is open to children entering grades K-7 in the Fall of 2011. Our multi-purpose camp facility is conveniently equipped with a swimming pool, air conditioned playrooms, secure outdoor play areas, on-site food service, and a brand-new state-of-the-art Recreation Center.
Sunny Days Camp offers nine weeks of fun during the summer with two programs — Half Day and Full Day. The Full Day Program has five options: Traditional, Swim, Sports, Rock Climbing and Skills of Leadership (SOL). The Half Day Prgram has two options: Swim and Indoor Play.
Campers are placed in groups appropriate to their age, with a low camper to counselor ratio. Campers participate in a variety of traditional camp activities such as sports, field trips, arts & crafts, games, and swimming. Each Wednesday Full Day campers go on an off-site field trip to fun destinations such as the L.A. Zoo, Valley Ice Center, and the California Science Center. On Fridays, all campers have the opportunity to visit the Games Room, our recreation center that has pool tables and the latest video games.
Sunny Days Camp is organized by a full time University Student Union staff member who is dedicated to providing a safe and exciting camp experience. Counselors are, over the age of 18, CSUN students, CPR and First Aid Certified, and receive 30+ hours of training prior to camp. Most of our counselors are child development majors as well.
