Matafest Bringing “Boardwalk” Experience to the USU

What:
All CSUN students are invited to the University Student Union for a fun time and all kinds of useful information at this fall’s Matafest. Grab your friends and experience everything the “Boardwalk” has to offer. It’s almost like a day at the beach! Enjoy the sunshine, tasty treats and awesome performances. Sign up for your chance to win a $500 Matador Bookstore gift card or a free parking pass for the fall semester.

Where:
Plaza del Sol at the USU (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.), Student Recreation Center pool (5 - 7 p.m.) 

Why:
To provide students with free food, entertainment, giveaways and activities along with an opportunity to gain insight and knowledge about the USU and its resources.

Background:
The early afternoon session will be at the Plaza del Sol, USU. Free corn dogs and Italian ice will be provided by Dog Gone It and Frozen Crush. A free drink bar will feature aguas frescas (fresh water infused with fruit). Entertainment will include street performers, a high striker, dunk tank, caricature artists and a live performance by Surfs Up, a Beach Boys cover band. The evening session will be at the SRC Rec Pool. Students can make their own s’mores and snack on refreshing fruit. Entertainment will include a sand castle building contest and music by a live DJ.
