August 16, 2017

Northridge — The University Student Union (USU) welcomes all CSUN students back to school with its annual “Matafest”, a fun and informational event featuring an adventurous twist. On Thursday, Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the USU’s Plaza del Sol, you’re invited to go on a safari excursion right here on campus to explore and discover all of the resources that the USU offers to every CSUN student. Your adventure awaits you with delicious food, live entertainment, and chances to win raffles and various prizes — all for FREE!

“Whether this is your first time stepping on campus or your last semester at CSUN, there is always so much valuable information you can take away from ‘Matafest’,” said USU Student Events Assistant Nada Elauri. “The USU is proud to let students know about all of its available resources while they experience some safari themed fun and enjoy free food and cool giveaways!”

Students will be able to visit booths hosted by the Pride Center, Computer Lab, Student Recreation Center and more to receive a Matafest Passport stamp at each stop to get free food, win prizes and be entered in the big raffle!

One of the cool prizes students will receive after getting six stamps on their passport is a “Survival Kit”, which they will be able to decorate and fill up with school essentials at the Survival Kit Station. Students can also participate in adventurous activities including an inflatable rope ladder, fun crafts, and photo booth!

Start the fall 2017 semester off with a safari adventure at ”Matafest” and learn about everything the University Student Union has just for you! For more information, please visit www.csun.edu/usu or contact USU Events Manager Audrey Martinez at .
