Fall 2014 calendar

  • Ongoing: The Postmortal: A Novel by Drew Magary is CSUN's Freshman Common Reading for 2014-2015. 
  • Ongoing: 2014-2015 Federal and California Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) filing period.
  • Ongoing every Thursday through August 28: Associated Students' Summer Movie Fest with free movies (and more!) on the Oviatt Library Lawn at about sundown
  • August 22 (Friday): last day of New Student Orientation for freshmen; registration required
  • August 23 (Saturday): Saturday-only and Friday-Saturday classes begin
  • August 25 (Monday): Weekday classes begin
  • August 26 (Tuesday): President's Picnic: choose lunch (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) or dinner (5:30-7 p.m.). Bayramian Hall Lawn. Free to all members of the CSUN Community.
  • August 27 (Wednesday): Associated Students Fair. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Bookstore Lawn. Free A. S. planners while they last
  • August 28 (Thursday): Associated Students Summer Movie Fest final free movie: Superbad. Oviatt Library Lawn at about sundown.
  • September 1 (Monday): Labor Day holiday. Campus is closed. No classes.
  • September 2-12 (Tuesday-Friday): weeks two and three of the semester. Adding classes requires a permission number. (Read the tutorial showing you how.)
  • September 4 (Thursday): Freshman Convocation, 6 p.m. Keynote speaker: Drew Magary. Freshmen assemble in Matador Square at 5:30 p.m.
  • September 13 (Saturday) and on: you will need formal permission to add or drop a class this late in the term.
