The Matador Achievement Center provides free tutoring in multiple subjects for all current student-athletes. We do not provide tutoring for non-athletes. During the school year, tutoring is offered on a walk-in basis (no appointment needed) Sunday through Friday. Students can also book same-day appointments, or appointments up to a week in advance. Spring 2017 Tutoring
Tutoring for the spring semester will be available starting Monday, February 6. Please click here to download a copy of the current schedule. To request tutoring, please email email@example.com or call (818) 677-6356. Students can also schedule tutoring in person at the MAC (5th floor) in BH 525. Tutoring is available by appointment and drop-in.
How to Become a Tutor
Our peer tutors are currently enrolled CSUN students from all majors and disciplines. Undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Obtained a grade of B+ or higher in desired course(s) for tutoring
Additional qualifications include:
- Prior tutoring experience
- Experience working with student-athletes

As part of the ongoing training of the Matador Achievement Center's tutors, Andrea Hernandez hosted the department's first tutor retreat in May of 2014. The video below demonstrates the type of interactive discussions and team building exercises that took place during the retreat.
