2021 Fall Supplemental Instruction Schedule

SI or Supplemental Instruction is a nationally recognized program. SI classes (University 60) are peer-facilitated group study sessions designed to help students master difficult subject matter in classes with traditionally low pass rates. Students enroll to receive one unit credit.

The sessions are conducted by juniors, seniors or graduate students who have demonstrated superior competence in the subject area. SI leaders attend the targeted class, read the assigned material, and work with the professors. Sessions focus on understanding content while developing effective study strategies, note taking and problem solving skills, and preparing for exams.

"I love being an SI Leader. I feel I cannot express that enough. I know that teaching is my future and this job makes me so eager to live my dream of helping students grow each and every day. I love the rewarding feeling when students give me a simple "thank you." I love when students express a genuine desire to learn out of mere curiosity. I love getting to know my students. As corny as it may sound, seeing my students is the highlight of my week, always. " -Tina

"I love helping my students and seeing them succeed. If I can get them to understand something they didn't before, it's so rewarding. This has been my favorite thing I've done at CSUN so far and can't wait to continue!" - Sarah
