Bridges: A Teaching Excellence Program is offering a 4-day Winter intensive workshop designed to act as a crash course in developing and implementing learner-centered instructional strategies for course design, delivery, and assessment.  It draws from techniques and strategies used in a Beck Grant funded project, the Teaching Excellence Program, which incorporates pedagogy training into practical strategies to bridge the gap between an instructor’s goals and students’ needs.

One faculty commented, “Before attending Bridges, I thought I was already an effective learning-centered instructor, but I left with a host of new concrete strategies I could immediately implement in my teaching slides, syllabus, and assignments“ (Emily Russell, Polished Apple Winner from Child & Adolescent Development).

Presenters are Prof. Jessica Baty (Communication Studies), Prof. John Kephart (Communication Studies), Prof. Jeanine Minge (Communication Studies), and Prof. Randi Picarelli (Communication Studies).

Attendees must be selected to attend and will receive a $200 stipend. Send in your Bridges Application  to Faculty Development by Friday December 5, 2014 at 4:00pm.
