Mandie McConkey

Director of Academic Services for Student-Athletes

Mandie McConkey joined Academic Services for Student-Athletes Department in 1995 and became the supervisor of the department in 2000. She works with Men's and Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track and Cross Country, Women's Golf, Men's Soccer, Men's Volleyball, and collaborates with other Advisors when teams require special attention. Mandie received both her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from CSUN as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in College and Career Counseling.


Michelle Almazan

Athletic Academic Advisor & Freshman Specialist

Michelle Almazan joined the Athletic Advising staff in 2007.  She currently works with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs, Women’s Soccer, and Tennis teams.  Michelle is also in charge of the Athlete Summer Success Program.  Michelle received both her Bachelor's Degree in Sport Psychology from CSUN as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.


Lindsey Schantz

Athletic Academic Advisor

Lindsey joined the ASSA team in August 2014 as an Academic Advisor for the Baseball, Men's Golf, Women's Indoor Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, and Water Polo programs. A San Diego State University alum, she earned her undergraduate degree in Communications while competing as a Volleyball student athlete from 2004-2008. Lindsey also completed her Masters in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University 2012.

Larry O'Connor

Analyst

Larry O’Connor has been with Academic Services for Student Athletes since 2010, but has worked on the CSUN campus for a number of years in various capacities.  From his time in the University Testing Center and the Office of Admissions and Records, he brings a well-rounded institutional knowledge that benefits ASSA directly and Athletics as well.
