Teiana Jones

Senior Associate Athletic Director, Academic Services

Teiana Jones has joined CSUN as the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Academic Services, the department has announced. Jones will have a dual role at CSUN, also reporting to Academic Affairs as the Senior Director of Academic Services for Student Athletes. She will report jointly to Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin and Associate Vice President of Undergraduate Studies Dr. Elizabeth Adams.
Jones will oversee Academic Advising and the Matador Achievement Center at CSUN. She comes to Northridge with seven years of experience in college athletics, and most recently was the Senior Academic Coordinator for football at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
In her four years at Georgia Tech, Jones oversaw coordinators and tutors and also worked with the women's basketball and women's tennis teams. Prior to her time with the Ramblin' Wreck, Jones served as a student-athlete development graduate assistant at Georgia State and then an Assistant Compliance Coordinator for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. She next worked for the University of Texas at Austin in athletic risk management and compliance services.
The Hoffman Estates, IL native received her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Sport Studies with a minor in Leisure Studies from the University of Iowa. She completed her Master of Science in Sport Administration at Georgia State University and is now pursuing a Master of Education in Higher Education from Georgia Southern University.
Jones enjoys traveling to spend time with family and movies and has volunteered for the Special Olympics for the past 15 years. She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) and resides in Chatsworth, CA.

Mandie McConkey

Director of Academic Services for Student-Athletes

Mandie McConkey joined Academic Services for Student-Athletes Department in 1995 and became the supervisor of the department in 2000. She works with Women's Golf, Men's Soccer, Men's Volleyball, Softball and collaborates with other Advisors when teams require special attention. Mandie received both her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from CSUN as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in College and Career Counseling.

Cristi Allen

Athletic Academic Advisor

Cristi Allen joined ASSA in August of 2015 and is an Academic Advisor for Men's Golf, Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, and the Women's Tennis program. She also coordinates professional development workshops for the student-athlete population. Cristi transferred from the Matador Achievement Center where she held the role of the Mentoring Coordinator from the MAC's inception in Fall of 2013 to August 2015. While earning her Bachelor's in Economics from CSUN, she also competed as a pole vaulter for the Women's Track and Field team. She then went on to pursue her Masters of Public Administration at CSUN. 

Lindsey Schantz

Athletic Academic Advisor & Freshman Specialist

Lindsey Schantz joined the ASSA team in August 2014 as an Academic Advisor for the Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Indoor Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, and Water Polo programs. A San Diego State University alum, she earned her Bachelor's in Communications while competing as a Volleyball student athlete from 2004-2008. Lindsey also completed her Master's in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University 2012.

Sima Sadafi

Athletic Academic Advisor

Sima Sadafi has been advising CSUN students in various offices across campus since 1990.  She originally joined the ASSA advising team in 2001 and worked with various teams for 2 years before transitioning to another position on campus.  She returned to ASSA in 2015 where she is currently working with athletes from Men's and Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track and Cross Country.  She’s a CSUN alum with Bachelors' degrees in Psychology and Child Development, and a Master’s in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Larry O'Connor


Larry O’Connor has been with Academic Services for Student Athletes since 2010, but has worked on the CSUN campus for a number of years in various capacities.  From his time in the University Testing Center and the Office of Admissions and Records, he brings a well-rounded institutional knowledge that benefits ASSA directly and Athletics as well.
