Mandie McConkey

Director of Academic Services for Student-Athletes

Mandie McConkey joined Academic Services for Student-Athletes Department in 1995 and became the supervisor of the department in 2000. She works with Men's and Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track and Cross Country, Women's Golf, Men's Soccer, Men's Volleyball, and collaborates with other Advisors when teams require special attention. Mandie received both her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from CSUN as well as her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in College and Career Counseling.

Lindsey Schantz

Athletic Academic Advisor & Freshman Specialist

Lindsey joined the ASSA team in August 2014 as an Academic Advisor for the Baseball, Men's Golf, Women's Indoor Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, and Water Polo programs. A San Diego State University alum, she earned her Bachelor's in Communications while competing as a Volleyball student athlete from 2004-2008. Lindsey also completed her Master's in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University 2012.

Sima Sadafi

Athletic Academic Advisor

Sima Sadafi has been advising CSUN students in various offices across campus since 1990.  She originally joined the ASSA advising team in 2001 and worked with various teams for 2 years before transitioning to another position on campus.  She returned to ASSA in 2015 where she is currently working with athletes from multiple teams.  She’s a CSUN alum with Bachelors' degrees in Psychology and Child Development, and a Master’s in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Larry O'Connor


Larry O’Connor has been with Academic Services for Student Athletes since 2010, but has worked on the CSUN campus for a number of years in various capacities.  From his time in the University Testing Center and the Office of Admissions and Records, he brings a well-rounded institutional knowledge that benefits ASSA directly and Athletics as well.
