Freshman Class Entering CSUN in 2015: Another Bumper Crop

July 16, 2015

The size of the freshman class has been growing steadily in recent years (not counting 2012 when the campus was required to limit freshman enrollment).

On July 15, 2015, the size of the incoming freshman class of 2015 quietly moved up over 5000. It's growing faster than the entering class of 2014, which was the second biggest in CSUN history.

August 19, 2015: the entering 2015 freshman class size stands at 5648. We've sailed right by the fall 2014 freshman class and are approaching the size of the record entering freshman class of 2013: 5818.

Watch the class size grow

Yes: you can watch enrollment grow by checking the numbers at Institutional Research (IR).  Here's how:

  1. Go to the IR website: http://www.csun.edu/institutional-research
  2. From the red bar at the top of the page, click "Registration Reports."
  3. From the left menu, select "Fall 2015 Registration."
  4. Look again at the left menu and select "Daily Registration."  The information you want should be visible in the main column.
  5. Want to see how registration changes day by day compared to this time last year? In the left menu, select "FTF Comparison (full regis. period)"

Here's hoping the recent good news about the state budget for the CSU helps us accommodate these new students.
