Ongoing events

  • From October 1, 2016, on: students can submit their FAFSA/Dream Act Application for 2017-2018. Read more about this new earlier opportunity.
  • Mondays: Conversation Swaps at the LRC. Oviatt Library third floor, east wing at 12 noon; bring your lunch and converse (in English) with other CSUN students from around the world and from here, too.
  • Tuesdays: Farmer's Market, East Cleary Walk, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Food!
  • Ongoing through December 16: Spring 2017 Registration Drawing. Prizes include a tuition scholarship, Metro U-Passes (good for unlimited rides on any of Metro's bus or rail lines,) and two $500 gift cards to the CSUN Campus Store.

Day by day events for fall 2016

  • December 2 (Friday):  Photoshop II ends the fall USU Tech Series: 3-4 p.m. in the USU Computer Lab. Free.
  • December 5 (Monday): "Your First Apartment: Surviving the Move" ends the fall Financial Literacy workshops and webinars series. 2 p.m. in ED 1214. Free, but registration requested.
  • December 5-8 (Monday-Thursday): Crunch Time: Finals Week Stress Relief.  11 a.m.-1 p.m., East Conference Center, USU. Free.
  • December 11 (Sunday): last day of formal instruction for the fall 2016 semester.
  • December 12-15 (Monday-Thursday): Crunch Time: Finals Week Stress Relief. 7:30-9 a.m., USU Plaza del Sol. Breakfast and more. Free.
  • December 12-18 (Monday-Sunday): final examinations.
  • December 23 (Friday): instructors' grades due.

Spring 2017 

  • January 16 (Monday): Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. Campus is closed.
  • January 19 (Thursday): official start of the spring semester
  • January 21 (Saturday): spring 2017 classes begin (Saturday-only and Friday-Saturday classes
  • January 22 (Sunday): spring 2017 Sunday-only classes begin
  • January 23 (Monday): weekday classes begin
  • March 31 (Friday): Céesar Chavez Day Holiday. Campus is closed; no classes.
