Welcome to California State University, Northridge
This checklist will help guide you through the first stage of your academic career at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Planning for your freshman year is an exciting time! Advisement and registration activities for Fall 2010 freshmen begin April 12, 2010.
Important! You must complete tasks 1-3 below by their deadlines in order to enroll in CSUN classes for the Fall 2010 semester:
- Confirm your Intent to Register no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2010. If you do not file your intent in time, you will not be able to enroll in Fall 2010 classes. To file, log into myNorthridge from the CSUN homepage at www.csun.edu. In the center column under Status, click the Intent to Register link to accept or decline your offer of admission to CSUN. Print the page confirming your intent and save for your records. For help, see Freshmen – Intent to Register.
- Satisfy the English Placement Test (EPT) and Entry Level Math (ELM) placement test requirements, or be exempt. The scores you earn on these tests determine some of the courses you are permitted or required to take during your first semester at CSUN. You may take EPT/ELM at CSUN or a CSU campus near you. For dates, registration and locations see the CSUN Testing Center website. Online registration is available.
YOU MUST TAKE EPT AND ELM ON OR BEFORE THE JUNE 19, 2010 TEST DATE OR YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL AT CSUN AS A FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN. Because of heavy demand and limited seating, you should sign up for the tests much earlier than the June deadline.

If you have taken college and/or Advanced Placement (AP) courses, bring unofficial transcripts along with any AP test scores to your first advisement meeting.
