- Two teams of college students placed first in the seventh annual Information Technology competition for Southern California universities.
- The college's accounting honors society placed first in the Beta Alpha Psi regional competition.
- The college has received a $500,000 gift from Wells Fargo Bank Mathew Rinnert to expand the Center for Small Business and Entrepreneurship
- Cal State Northridge students, all members of the Wayne and Roberta Colmer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, prepared tax forms this past spring for low income families and individuals, saving
the community thousands of dollars in income tax preparation fees.
- The college in conjunction with the university's executive speaker series has hosted the following alumni as guest speakers: Stephen Bollenbach, CEO, Hilton Hotels; Alex Yemenidjian, CEO, MGM; Charles Noski, retired vice chairman of the AT&T Corporation; Angelo Mozilo, chairman and CEO of Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., Jack Suzar, vice president of Bel Air Investment Advirors LLC, litigator Larry Feldman and Vincent Barabba, former director of the U.S. Census Bureau and General Motors Corporation executive.
- The Latin Business Association placed third in the National Hispanic Business Association Leadership Conference Case Competition, sponsored by Deloitte and Touche, Metlife, and Wells Fargo.
- Among all universities in the state, Cal State Northridge accounting graduates taking the CPA exam are in the top three in pass rates for every section of the exam, and, along with UC Berkeley, have the best pass rate in the financial reporting section.
- The San Fernando Valley Economic Forecast and the San Fernando Valley Economic Report provide valuable information for area businesses and twice annually.
