Wells Fargo Center’s Annual Luncheon Celebrates Success
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 23, 2008) — The Wells Fargo Center for Small Business and Entrepreneurship at Cal State Northridge will celebrate more than 30 years of success in a special luncheon on Thursday, May 8.
"Celebrating Success" will encompass several events including a speech from entrepreneur and motivational speaker Susan Leahy, who will describe her personal experience with the center as well as provide advice on engaging public speaking. In addition, a 60-second Fast Pitch Competition will take place to showcase the skills of business students.
"This event is significant because it brings together existing students, past students, current, past and future clients, instructors, community partners and executive members from the sponsor, Wells Fargo," said marketing professor Frank Vigneron.
The Wells Fargo Center encourages and supports research in the academic and applied areas on small business and entrepreneurship. The center facilitates faculty and student research and academic activities through funding research costs, conference travel, and library materials.
Vigneron noted the center’s indispensable services to both clients and students as reason enough to celebrate.
"The best business students are selected to provide paid consulting services to the local business community," he said. "Who said business schools are all theory and no practice? This is real hands-on experiences that will place these students in the best position to find a job."
