Public Invited to CSUN Students in Rare
Opportunity to Cross Examine Local Judges
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 7, 2008) — Cal State Northridge’s political science department is offering the public a rare opportunity to turn the tables on its local judges, and grill the judicial officers about matters that are important in the courtroom.
The department’s annual "Cross-Examine Your Los Angeles Superior Court Judges" event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union, on the west side of the campus off Zelzah Avenue, on Monday, April 14.
Judges from San Fernando Valley Superior Courts will answer questions from students, faculty, staff and the general public about the operation of the court system and the role of judges.
"We think it’s a wonderful opportunity for students and members of the community to gain greater insight into how the courts work and demystify the judicial system a little bit," said political science professor Chris Shortell, coordinator of the event.
