A New Way to Consume Probiotics Takes Top Prize in CSUN’s Inaugural Bull Ring

A business proposal for a new a way of delivering a healthy mix of probiotics and electrolytes while at the same time battling malnutrition and dehydration in children around the world took the top prize in the Bull Ring — CSUN’s version of Shark Tank. CSUN’s Africana Studies Honored with National Award for its Contributions to the Discipline

The National Council for Black Studies recently honored CSUN’s Department of Africana Studies with its Sankore Institutional Award for outstanding contributions to the development of Africana studies. The award was presented at the organization’s 40th annual conference in North Carolina.

CSUN PT Scholars Honored by Dodgers After Putting Practice to Work

CSUN physical therapy students who were recipients of scholarships from a partnership between the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation gave a helping hand on April 20 to middle school students at Elysian Park in the shadow of Dodger Stadium. And then on April 27, the CSUN students were recognized on the field at Dodger Stadium in a pregame ceremony.

Then watch the Matadors take on Big West rival Cal Poly in the first of a three-game weekend series. Make sure to wear red, as Red Rally prizes and promotions will be available at the game.

Spring 2016 Final Exam Schedule

The last Saturday or Sunday classes for the 2016 spring semester will be on May 7 and May 8. The last weekday of formal instruction is Friday, May 13. Finals week is Saturday-Friday, May 14-20. Make sure to confirm your final exam schedule and location with your professors.

June 2 is 2016-17 Financial Aid Document Deadline

By submitting your documents by June 2, your fall enrollment will be protected until your 2016-17 financial aid eligibility can be determined. If you are not able to submit the required documents by the deadline due to circumstances out of your control, speak with a Financial Aid Representative for further instructions.

Results of CSUN Associated Students Election

Congratulations to the newly elected president and vice president of CSUN’s student government, Associated Students. Sevag Alexanian will be serving as the new president and Kenya Lopez will be serving as the new vice president. Together they ran under the slate “Matadors United,” and have strong plans to push CSUN to greater heights.

Before starting a four-show run at the Valley Performing Arts Center, Dreamgirls star Moya Angela took center stage by home plate before a Dodger game to sing a powerful rendition of the national anthem.

A Conversation With Journalist and Creative Activist Kathy Eldon, May 4

The Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication together with the Department of Journalism present Kathy Eldon as the final speaker in this year's Commerce of Creativity Distinguished Speaker Series. The event will be held at the Kurkland Lecture Hall in the VPAC at 4:30 p.m.
