To the CSUN Community:

I invite you to learn about an important step in our journey to realize heightened reputation and visibility for the university. At 9 a.m. Thursday, April 23 in the Plaza del Sol Theatre, we will unveil a new positioning platform and updated graphic system, including a new university logo, to elevate CSUN’s identity with the internal and external community. We will repeat this presentation in the afternoon at 4 p.m. also in the Plaza del Sol Theatre. I encourage CSUN employees, students, alumni and friends to join us in this launch.

Opportunities for students, employees, and funding are enhanced by the positive reputation and visibility of the university. The university’s capacity to engage both internal and external constituents — students and potential students, parents, faculty and staff, elected officials, donors and potential donors, community partners, and the community at large — is dependent on growing the positive reputation and visibility of the university.

The newly defined messaging and identity standards support CSUN’s growing impact and national reputation. We are increasingly recognized for elevating our students, as well as the people, the culture and the economy of the entire region. The work is grounded in research and substantive input from faculty, students and alumni, tapping into CSUN’s multifaceted attributes and what resonates in the minds of our audiences.

A cross-functional team of faculty, staff and students has worked collaboratively for more than a year to help CSUN advance to this point. In early May, an integrated visibility campaign will launch with the goal of elevating the value of a CSUN degree in the minds of potential employers and increasing philanthropic support, corporate support and alumni engagement. The work will be featured in a variety of media, including billboards, print advertising and online ads.

I hope to see you at one of the sessions on April 23 as we launch this effort to elevate CSUN’s reputation and visibility.

Sincerely,

Dianne F. Harrison, President
