CSUN Food Garden Work Days

Volunteer at the CSUN Food Garden

Over the Winter break the food garden will hold volunteer hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-11:30am starting January 8th. The focus will be on preparing our garden for the Spring semester.

Task will include:

  • mulching
  • composting
  • weeding
  • harvesting
  • amending raised beds
  • sowing seeds
  • gathering supplies for Spring semester projects

No gardening experience is necessary. This is a place for people to learn from one another and the garden. The garden is located on the North East side of campus between the baseball and softball fields and directly behind Northridge Academy High school. Please remember to dress comfortably, bring water, a hat, gloves and a snack.

Note: On January 22nd the food garden volunteer hours will change and our calendar will be updated to reflect these changes.

Garden Workdays

We will be holding two garden workdays back to back on January 26th and 27th to prepare for and plant about 20 fruit trees. The workdays will start at 10am and go until we complete the day’s task. If you plan on attending either workday or both please email sustainability@csun.edu.
