In addition to the free services available to you as a currently enrolled student at Cal State Northridge, you may be eligible for additional free services at the Klotz Student Health Center through Family PACT! You may qualify if you live in California, are a woman under age 55 or a man under 60 and your personal income is under $1,600/month.
The Family PACT (Planning, Access, Care, Treatment) Program is a state funded program that provides clinical services for family planning and reproductive health at no cost to low-income residents, filling a critical gap in health care for the indigent, uninsured, and working poor. Women and men are eligible if they reside in California, are at risk of pregnancy or causing pregnancy, have a gross family income at or below 200% ($1,600/month, individual) of the Federal Poverty Level, and have no other source of health care coverage for family planning services. Family PACT is administered by the Department of Health Services, Office of Family Planning. Family PACT provides access to family planning services for men and women, as well as education, counseling and treatment to protect your reproductive health.
*Family PACT can provide: contraceptive methods counseling, physical exams, Pap smears, pregnancy counseling and testing, sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment, and referrals for services not covered by the plan.
*Family PACT can provide birth control including many forms of contraceptives, condoms, spermicides, and emergency contraception (ECP).
To determine eligibility, students should complete a Family PACT Client Eligibility Certification (CEC) form. Students can complete the form in the Klotz Student Health Center or download and bring the completed form to the health center. CEC forms must be signed in person at the health center. Therefore forms may not be faxed or mailed to the health center. Download the CEC form.
To be sure you can benefit from Family PACT at your next visit to the Klotz Student Health Center, we suggest that you come in to the health center and meet with the Family PACT representative to determine your eligibility before your next scheduled health center appointment. A brief eligibility/orientation session and you will be ready to enjoy the benefits. Eligible students can take advantage of benefits as early as the next working day after signing up.
