The Social Science Writing Project

Overview

The Social Science Writing Project is an initiative to teach, encourage, inspire, and support student writing in the social sciences.

The College of Social & Behavioral Sciences will host a series of 10 workshops for students on topics ranging from sentence construction, to writing a literature review, to proper citation, and many more. The workshops will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays in Sierra Hall 181.  For more information about workshop topics and presenters, click here.

The SSWP will hold two faculty development seminars each semester on various topics related to teaching writing. Faculty working both within and outside of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will facilitate an open exchange of ideas about developing prompts, offering effective feedback, structuring peer-review, and working with students to develop their paragraph writing skills.. Faculty from across the college are invited to attend. The seminars will be held in the Whitsett Room and lunch will be provided. For more information about seminar topics and facilitators, please visit our faculty page.
