FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge- The Student Recreation Center (SRC) at the University Student Union (USU) encourages all students, faculty and staff to get active with some friendly competition by participating in Spring 2016 Intramurals starting Feb.1. All current CSUN students, faculty and staff are eligible to register online as a team or sign up as a free agent from Jan. 11 to Jan. 27. It’s a great way to compete with or against your friends, build camaraderie and meet new people through a variety of sports.

“There is something for everyone who wants to compete and have fun in this popular program,” said Demont Oliver, intramural coordinator, “Intramurals are the perfect opportunity for SRC members to participate in a team-sport of their choice or a one-day challenge in a fun, friendly and safe environment.”

Sports available this Spring include dodgeball, basketball, volleyball, softball, flag football and soccer. To register for your desired sport, just go to www.IMleagues.com or download the Rec It App. SRC members can join a team, start their own or sign up as a free agent and have a team found for them. Participants are also eligible to take part in exciting one-day challenges.

All games will be held in the SRC and spectators are welcome to attend and cheer on their fellow Matadors. Winners in each sport will be awarded an SRC intramural championship shirt for their victory in the program.
