Take the first step to becoming a Spinning® Instructor at the SRC on Saturday, Aug. 2. Join a Spinning® Master Instructor for a nine-hour training program to learn Spinner® bike setup and safety, cycling biomechanics, heart rate training and how to develop strong coaching skills to cater to all ability levels. This program will give you all the materials and knowledge needed to successfully complete the Spinning® online assessment test required to get certified and lead your own classes. You can register online through spinning.com. The cost of the training is $325. All CSUN students, faculty and staff can save $55 by using the special discount code: SpinOR-Schools.

Already certified as a Spinning® Instructor? Expand your expertise with a couple of four-hour continuing education workshops on Sunday, Aug. 3. Learn more about the relationship between cadence, resistance and intensity in “Cadence, Heart Rate and Class Designs” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gain insight on class design modifications to help you obtain certain goals in “Contraindictions to the Spinning® Program” from 2 to 6 p.m. Register online through spinning.com. The cost of each continuing education workshop is $109. All CSUN students, faculty and staff can save $19 on each workshop by calling customer service at 800-847-7746.
