Urban Studies & Planning
The mission of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning is to prepare students, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, for professional careers in urban studies and planning. In addition, the department seeks to provide a broad based educational experience, set in the context of the social sciences, which contributes to the development of informed and thoughtful individuals prepared to contribute to the society at large. Department faculty supports the mission through teaching, research and publication, community outreach and action, and university service.
The Department of Urban Studies and Planning is now accepting applications for a full-time tenure track position effective Fall 2015. Teaching responsibilities will range from introductory courses to upper division courses. Application screening will begin on 31 October 2014. Social Science Writing Project Fall 2014
Communicating through Writing
Welcome to the the Social Science Writing Project. This project is an initiative to teach, encourage, inspire, and support student writing in the social sciences. During the 2014-15 academic year, the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences will host a series of workshops on topics ranging from sentence construction, to writing a literature review, to proper citation, and many more. The first workshop in the series is "Communicating through Writing." All workshops are free and open to students from all majors in the college. Read more
